Babies learn by imitating the things they see and the sounds they hear. When a baby is born blind or deaf, his or her ability to watch, listen, imitate and learn is affected. the development of physical, mental and social abilities is delayed. He or she learns to do things much later than other children.

Some children are born with a heart defect. When the defect is not corrected at once, it may become serious. Children with a heart defect get tired easily. They cannot take part in physical exercises that healthy children do. Lack of exercise can make the body weak.
